Charities and public sector organisations led the charge at last night's Nominet Internet Awards ceremony. Successful entrants were recognised for their exemplary work in making the Internet a more secure, open, accessible or diverse experience.

The winning entries will be promoted as examples of best practice on the Internet to industry, government, academia and in the media in the UK and internationally. They will also be showcased at the Internet Governance Forum (IGF) meeting in Vilnius in September.
