We are making some changes to how we communicate changes to our systems and services to registrars.
We now aim to publish release notes outlining system changes approximately one month before the release. Whilst we are committed to providing this service to registrars there may be occasions where items in each release change. The pre-release notification, given seven days prior to release should normally be considered the complete version of notes for each release. Any changes added or removed within the final seven days will be highlighted on the final release notes.
We will now be announcing changes to systems in the following way:
Schedule of release dates
The Planned Changes RSS feed has now been archived and replaced with a list of
planned maintenance release dates. Each maintenance release will be accompanied by a set of release notes which will be published approximately one month in advance of the release date (with the preceding release).
Our list of maintenance release dates is subject to change and we will confirm the definitive release date and announce the outage duration and systems affected seven days in advance.
Release communications
As a result the following announcements will be made for each release:
- Pre-release notification: Seven days prior to the release date we will confirm the details of the maintenance release: start time, duration and systems affected. We will also confirm the changes to be made in release notes for that month. Notification will be sent by:
- Release notification: On the release day we will send notification that the release has been completed. This will be accompanied by the final release notes for that month. We will also give notification of the planned date for the next monthly release and publish advance release notes for systems affected. Notification will be sent by:

Service Announcement RSS feed.
Development roadmap
In August we will publish a development roadmap. This roadmap will give details of all the development work currently in progress, being planned or under consideration. The roadmap will be regularly updated and will be a valuable resource for registrars to keep abreast of planned system developments. Further details will be announced next month.
